So, if I understand it correctly: If I buy this Marmitek AH31 product, together with a scart-RCA cable, I should be able to connect my old Samsung VHS VCR (ref: SV-242FB) with SCART connection to my TV with HDMI connection, and read a cassette, with sound and - most importantly - picture. It should no longer - as with the other products I have tried so far - give the sound, with only a blue screen with "no signal" in the centre.

I would be very grateful if someone could confirm this for me so that I can save myself a third return. Many thanks in advance.

Exactly. In my scenario it was the original Xbox that only had these red/white/yellow plugs, these 3 plugs to this adapter and then vis HDMI to a TV (LG2020). It worked, quality not really top but sufficient for a nostalgic experience :)
