The car adapter is only compatible with vehicles that natively support Android Auto via cable, regardless of the year of manufacture, so even 2015 models if they have original Android Auto installed. It will not work with cars that do not have factory Android Auto or iPhone/CarPlay. To use it, it needs to be plugged into the Android Auto-enabled USB port in the car, and allows you to switch between a wired and wireless connection via Bluetooth and Wi-Fi. You need your phone to have Android 11 or higher and Android Auto wireless enabled on your device.
