The 2 metre length of the cables mentioned above, does this also apply to the length of the cable from the control unit?

I haven't measured it, but it's good enough to have the subwoofer on the floor and the satellite speakers & control panel on the desk. I would also recommend this, because the subwoofer makes noise (even when switched off).
