The LAN connection should actually pass the signal to the laptop via the USB port, right? I currently have to connect the LAN cable directly to the laptop to get a network, which is kind of stupid and not what I was hoping for.

My LAN cable is also connected to the Icybox, but the box is connected to the notebook via USB 2.0. It didn't work with USB 3.0 on my 6-year-old ASUS notebook either. Maybe the latest DisplayLink driver will help ? http://www.displaylink.com/downloads...

In my case, the Lan cable is connected to the Icy Box and the box is then connected via USB-C to the laptop.
