What about Bluetooth, does the system have to be controlled via an app or is it like a UE Boom? So that you connect via Bluetooth and can operate the devices normally without having to go through any control app?

I can only confirm that. Everything works perfectly from every source. We once had connection problems via Apple AirPlay 2, but we were able to solve this problem by disconnecting the entire system from the mains for about 15 seconds and then reconnecting it.

Both are possible and also direct control via the system or remote control! Bluetooth or your own app (uses the wifi network in the house) can both be used well.
