What is the best way to transport this mouse in a rucksack without scratching or damaging it? Does anyone have any ideas? I'm thinking of a soft microfibre bag or even a harder plastic box.

With a professional dusting cloth. Microfibre cloth also removes fine scratches from the plastic box over time.
