Would this work with a surface pro 5?

Probably not. First the Surface Pro 5 does not have any USB-C port.
Second, even if you connect it to the USB-A port using an adapter, most of the functions will not work. There is no video going through the USB-A port of the Surface Pro 5 so the HDMI ports of the HyperDrive will not work. The USB hub will probably work but if that's what you want, you can find much cheaper USB-A hubs.
