Would you recommend this mouse for someone coming from the Logitech M500? I'm looking for something a bit smaller and lighter but don't want to compromise too much on the scroll wheel. Desktop use is important too.

shape wise it's definitely a good option for you coming from the M500. It is super light as well so you will probably like that too.
I suggest you try it out a in a shop that has it on display like Mediamarkt before you get it
