Product details

Medela Contact - Nipple Covers, 2-pack Size: M/20mm. The nipple shield is a thin, flexible piece of silicone that is applied to the nipples for protection before breastfeeding. It allows for breastfeeding when latching is difficult or painful. They are especially useful if you have flat or inverted nipples, making it challenging for the baby to latch on. The perforated tip allows the baby to suck milk easily, which does not negatively affect the intimate experience of breastfeeding.

Included: 2 x Medela Contact Covers.

Features: Nipple shields are practical in three situations: when your nipples are cracked or sore. This condition can be caused by various factors, so it is very important to identify the cause. Initially, you can try hydrogel pads or Medela nipple shields, which are also available in our shop. If that doesn't help, contact shields can protect your nipples while still allowing you to breastfeed.

If you have inverted or flat nipples, your baby may have difficulty latching on. Inverted or flat nipples often do not reach the baby's palate, so there may often be no sucking reflex. However, this does not exclude breastfeeding. Contact covers come to the rescue; they are also tasteless and BPA-free, so your child will not notice any difference when using them.

If the baby has trouble latching onto the breast, overlays are a short-term solution. Once your baby gets used to breastfeeding and gains the strength to suck, you can start weaning them off the use of nipple shields.
