Lawyer Fentje Jacobsen, who runs her practice on her grandparents' sheep farm, receives a call in the middle of the night. The man on the other end explains that he needs her help, as he will soon be suspected of murder. Then he hangs up. Shortly after, Fentje hears that two bodies have been found in a nearby town: her new client has himself fallen victim to a crime and was brutally strangled in his home. Although she does not have a valid mandate, Fentje begins to investigate with journalist Niklas John. However, as they dig too deep in the small village, it becomes life-threatening for her as well.
