Bumblebees actually have wings that are too small to fly - including the little bumblebee Bommel. "With your tiny wings, you'll never be able to fly!" laugh the other insect children at Bommel. But soon the little bumblebee realizes that she doesn't need bigger wings, just a bit of courage to fly. Britta Sabbag and Maite Kelly met during a film project, and it was immediately clear: the chemistry was right. Maite Kelly inspired Britta Sabbag to create the character of the little bumblebee who can fly despite her tiny wings, and together they developed the idea into a book and also co-wrote the "Bumblebee Song." The illustrations were provided by Joëlle Tourlonias.
