Ruthless and impressive 1943 the 9-year-old Hugo is deported with his parents, grandparents and siblings. He spends over two years in concentration camps. Dr. Mengele tortures him and one of his brothers with brutal medical experiments. In April 1945 Hugo is liberated. He is only able to speak of all this when he is over 60. In long conversations with the author, the long-buried memories came back bit by bit. Hugo Höllenreiner wanted to enlighten young people by telling them how it really was. He died in Ingolstadt in 2015.
