What would our country look like if it were governed by a right-wing nationalist party? Anton is a young soldier guarding the border wall that encloses Germany. He is enthusiastic about the National Alternative, the new ruling party, and the self-confidence of his country. In contrast, his best friend Noah despises everything about it. He is against nuclear power and believes it is wrong to abolish compulsory education and legal unemployment benefits, while promoting conservative gender roles. Refugees receive no protection at all. Refugees like Fana, who comes from Ethiopia, where climate change leads to terrible famines. In the last remaining refugee camp in Germany, Fana and Anton cross paths. When Anton is ordered to carry out an attack, he must choose: for a national ideology or for his friends and a free life.
