Author: Peter Flamm

Peter Flamm, born Erich Mosse, was born in 1891 in Berlin. During his medical studies, he began publishing feuilletons and short stories in the newspapers of his uncle Rudolf Mosse. His psychological debut novel "Ich?" published by S. Fischer in 1926 caused a stir. In the following years, he wrote three more novels alongside his medical practice until he had to emigrate from Germany to Paris with his wife Marianne in 1933, and then to New York in 1934 due to his Jewish heritage. There, he settled as a psychiatrist; his most famous patient was the Nobel Prize-winning author William Faulkner. Celebrities such as Albert Einstein and Charlie Chaplin frequented his home. He passed away in New York in 1963.

Senthuran Varatharajah, born in 1984 in Jaffna, Sri Lanka, studied philosophy, Protestant theology, and comparative religious and cultural studies in Marburg, Berlin, and London. His first novel "Vor der Zunahme der Zeichen" was published by S. Fischer Verlag in 2016. His second novel "Rot (Hunger)" was released in 2022. His novels have received numerous awards. Varatharajah lives in Berlin.
