Product details

The only sacred day for Ian Fraser Kilmister, known to the world as Lemmy, is his birthday: Dec. 24, 1945. Otherwise, the man with the distinctive whiskers has left nothing out in the course of his 40-year music career. Before he founded the band Motörhead in 1975, which is still groundbreaking today, he worked for Jimi Hendrix and played with the space rock band Hawkwind. Lemmy died on Dec. 28, 2015 - with him has gone one of the last real rock stars ... In the sixties Lemmy worked as a roadie for Jimi Hendrix and made a name for himself as the bassist of the space rock legend Hawkwind, before forming the band Motörhead in 1975, to this day one of the most important and influential heavy metal bands of all time. While the music scene around him was constantly subject to new trends and faces, Lemmy always remained uncompromisingly himself, which gave him far beyond the genre.
