Guts and his comrades manage, with great difficulty, to rescue Griffith from Windham Castle. However, the king has already dispatched the feared Knights of the Black Dog to pursue the Falcons. They use all their cunning and experience to shake off their pursuers, but a decisive battle becomes inevitable. Wyald, the leader of the Black Dogs, turns out to be an unpredictable and ruthless opponent who has a particularly surprising challenge in store for the Falcons.
