Jochen is often alone. His mother is divorced and has to provide for their living expenses. He sees her new boyfriend as a rival. One day it happens: Jochen gets caught stealing from a department store. At home, there is a fight, and at school, his classmates tease him. Jochen retaliates so violently that he seriously injures the other boy and ends up in a care home. He can't stand it there for long, but neither his father nor his remarried mother can or want to give him a home.
