Sally Swift began riding at the age of eight. As a young woman, she worked for several years as a riding instructor, but then worked as a civil servant until her retirement in 1975. It wasn't until her early sixties that she returned to her passion for training riders and developed her training system "Centered Riding," which translates to riding from the center of the body. This brought her worldwide recognition. Generations of riders, including many well-known competition winners, sought her guidance for success. Even today, the agile 89-year-old occasionally gives riding lessons. She lives in Vermont, USA.
