Joshua lives with his mother and stepfather in Amarias, a man-made settlement with a heavily guarded wall running along its edge. Joshua has learnt that the enemy lives behind the wall, lurking day after day to kill the settlers. And that the wall protects him and his people. But one day Joshua finds a tunnel that leads under the wall. He knows that he won't get another chance to take a look at the other side any time soon. The temptation is too great. And from the moment Joshua sticks his head out of the tunnel, his life is no longer as it was before. "On the Right Side" is a novel about a boy whose world is turned upside down by a tunnel. But it is also a political fable about the contemporary life of a teenager in the West Bank who realises that there are two sides to every story.
