Author Information
Pierre Christin, born in 1938 in Paris, is a professor, writer, and journalist, and is one of the most prominent and committed comic authors in Europe. After studying political, social, and literary sciences, he became a lecturer in French at the University of Salt Lake City. In 1965, his childhood friend Jean-Claude Mézières, who had already been working as an illustrator for ten years, visited him. Mézières convinced him to write a comic scenario. This led to the short story "Le Rhum du Punch," which was published in "Pilote" in 1966. Following this first publication, Christin developed the series "Valerian and Veronique" (published in German by Carlsen Comics) for Mézières under the pseudonym Linus the following year, which quickly became the most significant European science fiction comic.
