My sharpener has a very impractical behaviour: It does not stop when the pencil is sharpened. You can turn endlessly until the whole pencil is milled away. That shouldn't be the case, should it?

There is an adjusting screw on the crank. Turn it clockwise until it stops. After that, the tip of the pin should be short and blunt... if not, maybe the lead of the pencils is too soft/crumbly - or something is wrong with the "machine...
