After switching on the Cameo 4, it only takes a few seconds until the Windows sound for "new hardware found" is heard on the PC (I mean that one: https://www.youtube.com/watch).

And then you can start cutting immediately.
Use the official programme "Silhouette Studio". The free basic version is already quite good. But after a few weeks you will certainly want to upgrade - I recommend the "Business Edition" (a one-time investment of $99).
