It depends on what you want to do. On plotterwelt.ch there is an overview of all plotters with advantages and disadvantages. If you only want to cut paper and foils, you are certainly well served with the Silhouette Cameo, but if you also want to cut thicker materials, then you are better served with the Cricut Maker. The Cricut Maker is also much better made and has a much higher cutting precision than the Cameo.

I can recommend the device yes. I have tested it for 2-3 weeks now and I am very happy with all the settings, features etc. It is very easy to use and the installation is completed in no time.
So far I have only cut transparencies, but this without any problems.

Cameo 4 is very recommendable. You can do a lot of cool things with it.
