Nevertheless, Pole stands out as an exceptional bar stool. A round, solid seat made of pine wood rests on an unconventional base made from powder-coated steel tubing. A simple, smaller steel tube, positioned horizontally above the base, provides a footrest and serves as both a functional and decorative element of the design. The design is inspired by brutalist architecture, which, with its robust materials and geometric shapes, forms the foundation of Pole's outline. "Creating a design with a simple yet original shape is always the biggest challenge in the design process. I believe that with Pole, we have succeeded in creating a robust piece of furniture made from good, durable materials with a very recognizable expression," explains designer Simon Legald.
