The cable channels serve two functions: they provide a robust mounting bar for securing electrical units and house the electrical cables that supply power to these units. All light line sections are made of galvanized steel with a white or silver finish. They are available in special TL5 lengths for 1, 2, and 3 electrical units with 49 W (35/80 W) and 54 W (28 W). A flat ribbon cable (5 or 7 wires) or two flat ribbon cables (2 x 5 or 2 x 7 wires) are integrated into the cable channel, ensuring safe and correct wiring in combination with an integrated phase selection switch and terminal blocks. The 7-wire cable is used for integrating lighting control or emergency lighting for electrical units equipped with emergency power batteries. A double wiring (2 x 5 or 2 x 7 wires) is required to provide a completely separate power supply for the electrical units, which are often used for emergency lighting through central emergency power batteries or separate circuits, eliminating the need for additional terminal blocks or wiring.

For suspended light lines, the light line sections connect via the integrated electrical connection and a robust external mechanical connector. Surface-mounted light lines use the same integrated electrical connection and an internal connector. The upper part of the light line section features special breakout openings for cable access wherever needed.

The cable channel comes with a full range of interchangeable components that enhance flexibility. The outstanding stability of the sections and connectors allows for suspension distances of 3.4 to 5 meters. The base components of the Maxos TL-D cable channels are also compatible with the TL5 cable channels.
