I agree, I would say that jankurtz is a "designer brand" and the other one is not. But I can recommend jankurtz, we have been using two of them for 5 years.
The coat rack is made of white metal. I can't tell you how much it weighs, but I can tell you that the branches are light and the base is quite heavy. It is very stable even when filled with coats.
