Can I connect my mobile phone via the USB port to charge it during the night? Is it also possible to set a piece of music from the mobile phone as an alarm tone via the USB connection?

I haven't tried this yet, the description doesn't say anything like that, and I don't think it works. USB sticks with music in the root directory can be set as the alarm sound.
The snooze function is not great, it reacts very sluggishly when you turn off the alarm by touching the lamp glass.
