The display cannot be switched off completely. In my opinion, the lowest brightness level is already very dark and not disturbing. We have been using the alarm clock for about 2 weeks now and are totally thrilled with it. It's a completely different way to wake up when the light slowly comes on and then the radio switches on with your favourite station. This makes waking up fun. :)
