Yes, it starts quietly and gets louder and louder for about 20 seconds until it reaches the maximum volume you have selected. After that, it no longer gets louder.

Yes, the alarm clock always starts with the individually set volume and gets louder over time if you do not turn it off. The initial volume can also be set individually. Also the snooze intervals. Great product
