It has a slider at the back, just by the opening of the battery compartment. The slider is "ribbed". And depending on which side it is on, you can see the sign for "locked" or "open" very, very small in the recess.

You'll see 'off' and 'on' on each side. Flip it to which way you want it -- off or on.
