I have the lamp and it whirs, whistles in standby all the time. Is this the case for anyone else?

No, I have no noise. Either the bulb is defective or the lamp still has a dimmer that is not compatible with it.

This is also the case with me and it operates without a dimmer. I can therefore not recommend it for the bedroom.
