The LED tube comes with instructions on how to rewire the fixture as to bypass the ballast and connect the tube directly to the AC mains. Looks like indeed it cannot be used as a drop-in replacement for neon tubes.

It really means that these can not be simply used instead of the Osram HO 24W/840 ("simply" meaning "plug & play") . Even if the technical specifications at Galaxus seem to be identical to the Osram, there is one huge difference that the Galaxus technical details do not mention. The Ledvance LED-Tubes need 240V AC, whereas the Osram works with 77V (see https://www.osram.de/ecat...). In my opinion Galaxus should absolutely mention the voltage of all their lamps in the technical details, as it is a very important detail. Or at least they should explain it better (like e.g. "These are not replacement products for normal neon tubes because they work with 240V instead of 77V").

Saying this, I am also looking for a (plug & play) LED replacement of the Osram HO 24W/840, and still have no solution. Any suggestions anybody?
