Once configured, can the Hue Bridge work without an Ethernet cable via the router's WiFi or is a network cable necessary all the time?

You can also use a WLAN repeater with a LAN connection to use the bridge remotely from the router.

I have an ORBI RBR850 router, ordered an Orbi RBS850 satellite, but cannot connect it. When ordering, I didn't realise that the satellite is called RBS and not RBR, is this the reason?

Does the bridge set up its own wifi for the lamps or do the lamps communicate with the bridge via the existing network?

Thanks for the information. I bought a small Huawei pocket router without an Ethernet connection and don't want to keep switching the data SIM card back and forth to the base station.

Can the philips hue bridge also be connected to a computer (network socket) instead of directly to the router?

Bridge must always be connected with E-cable, as the bridge communicates with the lamps and the connection goes via Wifi through the router. (No wifi module in the bridge)
