Product details

Kerbl Transformer 300 W, 24 V converts the voltage from 230 volts to 24 volts. The transformer has an IP65 protection rating and is connected to a transformer with an IP20 protection rating (the connection must be protected from moisture!). It is suitable for all frost-free drinking troughs. Short circuit and overload protection are ensured by a easily replaceable automotive fuse in the output circuit. Additionally, the transformers are protected against overheating by an integrated temperature limiter (automatic reset after cooling down).

Technical Data:
Input Voltage: 230 V (AC) / 50 Hz
Output Voltage: 24 V (AC)
Rated Power: 300 VA (300 Watts)
Power Factor: 0.98
Protection Class: 2
IP Protection Rating: IP20
Fuse: 15 A

Important Notes:
Installation must only be carried out by qualified personnel! Please observe the correct sizing of the required transformer and the correct cross-section of the 24 V cable to the consumer.

Determining the Right Transformer:
To determine the right transformer, the power consumption of all consumers must be added together. Additionally, a safety factor of 15% should be included as a reserve. Example: If you want to operate two heated drinking troughs with 80 watts heating elements each, and also connect a branch line with a 1.0 m long heating cable and 11 watts heating power.

The system power then amounts to:
2 x 80 W + 11 W = 171 W

With a safety factor of 15%:
171 W x 1.15 = 196.65 W

Therefore, a transformer with at least 200 watts should be selected.

Determining the Right Wire Cross-Section:
When using transformers, it is important to pay attention to the correct wire cross-section! Generally, the length of the 24 V wire should be kept as short as possible. To determine the correct wire cross-section, you can find a table or a calculation formula in the images.
