The pH electrode must be purchased separately (not included in the set). It regulates the CO2 addition for optimal plant growth in the aquarium and the ideal pH level for aquarium fish. The temperature sensor, transformer, and pH electrode (not included) need to be connected and linked to the solenoid valve. The desired pH level can be entered manually or the automatic program can be used. The touch display allows for easy operation through the menu. For automatic regulation of CO2 addition, the carbonate hardness (KH) must be measured and entered.
