The microchip cat flap requires the cat to be fitted with an electronic microchip to work properly. Without a microchip, it won't recognise the animal and won't open.

It is not possible to use any other temporary means with this cat flap, as it is designed to read only the microchip implanted under the cat's skin. The learning mode only registers existing microchip codes and does not allow opening without a microchip.
