From my point of view, the two devices DLM431 and DLM432 are practically identical, except for the appearance. There are only small differences in dimensions and weight. In the "Noise" section, Makita states the sound power level and sound pressure level for both devices, whereby the stated values differ by 1 dB (I assume that Makita has swapped the values for the DLM431). Whether this really makes an audible difference or whether the perception of the volume is more strongly influenced by other causes I will leave out of consideration. In my opinion, the noise is pleasant and okay, but quieter is always possible.
