With the Moka espresso maker, architect and designer David Chipperfield has embraced a classic design: the moka pot or espresso maker. The octagonal device was originally designed by Alfonso Bialetti in 1935 and marketed as an Italian design icon starting in 1945. Chipperfield's Moka is a deliberate and subtle update of the classic Bialetti.
