Product details
Special needle for needle felting carded wool, which can be used for all kinds of creative wool projects.
Place the carded wool on a foam felting mat and move the needle up and down vertically to felt the wool fibers. The more you "poke," the firmer the felting will become. Hold the upper end of the needle so that the barbs can "catch" the wool. The needle can also be inserted into a felting needle holder, such as one made of wood, for better handling.
With a felting needle, you can transform wool into a variety of creative items:
- Small felt pictures to hang on the wall
- Felt table mats that fit perfectly under hot dishes and plates on the dining table
- Felt on Styrofoam objects – this way, you have the basic shape and just need to cover the surface with wool
- Cute felt figures and shapes to attach to key rings or bags.
Wool felting is an activity with a very long tradition. However, the traditional technique of felting with hot water has been developed further, making it possible to felt carded wool with a small barbed needle. This results in the wool being felted. Needle felting requires little preparation – and unlike wet felting, you can take breaks while needle felting and do not have to deal with soapy water and draping.
