No, you can't add butter or sugar. It is a hot air popcorn machine. Popcorn gets a little dry and you can only sweeten it afterwards, e.g. with icing sugar.

I don't know how many grams - one measuring cup (which serves as a lid) makes a salad bowl of popcorn - it goes very quickly

It's black. The description says red but it's black. Bought it 18 months ago and I'm very happy.
Also Black n Decker almost only sells black products.
