Making orange juice is no problem. We cut off the peel (it's quicker than peeling) and put the whole orange in the juicer. The orange juice tastes very good and there is no pulp in it, or the pulp is so fine that you don't notice it. You don't have to worry about the seeds either. I usually add a carrot and ginger afterwards :-) It tastes great!
We are very happy with the juicer. Tip: rinse immediately before anything dries up.

I think the loss would be too great, as even the leaves from celery usually slip through with little damage and end up in the waste bin.
