I would also say they are the same except for the purifier attachment.
You cannot take it off once attached but it comes separate. You only attach it if you want. So.. maybe not too stupid?

It's not compatible with older models. MQ70 has rounded edges and MQ90 straight edges

No, unfortunately it has a Schuko plug with an additionally supplied adapter.
