sounds like water has gotten inside the electric switch areas, you need to take it for service or purchase new. any appliance that has fuse issues, should not be used due to fire and shock risks. i have mine over a year, once a week i put a splash of white migros vinegar in the kettle with a cup of water, and let is boil, sometimes a disk brush on the bottom for some small spots is needed. this has kept the kettle like NEW inside, around the cap at the top has some scratching around the rim. but otherwise like new. tip dont wait a long time to descale, and use vinegar not descaler.

I am happy with the kettle, I even heat the water for the spaghetti in the cooker because it takes too long in the pan on my glass ceramic cooker.

Does this appliance have plastic parts inside? e.g. for the water level indicator or the limescale filter? ONLY THE LIMESCALE FILTER, WHICH IS EASY TO REMOVE AND REINSERT. Is the opening at the top big enough to clean out comfortably? YES
