The filter housing is unscrewed from the centre. Once open, the filter can be difficult to pull out. I recommend using a pair of English pliers to pull it from one of its endpieces. I hope this helps.

That's very good enough. My connection is 7cm from the wall and I still have about 3cm between the filter and the wall.
I would say at least 4-4.5cm should be enough.

The filter is mainly used as a descaler or to soften the water.
Where the seam is, it is separated by a simple twisting motion.
I would suggest holding above and below and turning. This works for me.
