What kind of coffee do you want to make? Like most coffee grinders, the very good Smart Grinder is not calibrated. This means that what is good for my espresso may not be right for your grinder. For an excellent Italian "espresso" I use Kimbo Napoli beans 🫘. I like 15g finely ground in the sieve so that the water runs through in 30-40 seconds. That means with my grinder: Grind size: 13.6 Grind time: 14.6 Does that help?

Helpful answer

The Smart Grinder Pro settings for quantity and grinding degree are not reset when the appliance goes into standby mode or is disconnected from the mains. - The programmed settings, including the grind quantity and grind level, remain saved as long as the appliance is operated and shut down correctly. - The appliance has a function that allows you to programme and save your preferred settings, which means that these settings are retained even after the appliance is switched off or in standby mode.

Yes, the Sage the Smart Grinder Pro (CH version) can grind coffee beans so finely that they are ideal for espresso. The device offers an individually adjustable grind that allows you to precisely adjust the grain size to achieve the optimum results for various coffee specialities, including espresso.

I think the more expensive model is the Germany version of the device. Here is my little detective work on it: The more expensive one has model number SCG820BSS4EEU1. The cheaper one is SCG820BSS4QEU1. So there is a small difference. If you then search for these two numbers on the Internet, you will find suppliers in Germany for the more expensive one and suppliers in Switzerland for the cheaper one. This is perhaps somewhat thin evidence.... Here is the comparison on Galaxus: https://www.galaxus.ch/de/comparison/11862993-12008744 The differences seem to me to be based only on different inputs, both machines certainly have plastic on them too, not just metal, for example. Conclusion: I would buy the cheaper one, Galaxus has it in stock, it is (presumably) the Swiss model and otherwise exactly the same mill. A great part, by the way. I've been grinding with it for two years.
