The initial filter performance in terms of the total hardness of the water corresponds to the Maxtra+ filter, which Brita itself unfortunately no longer seems to offer. 8° fH from the tap is reduced to 1° fH (the lowest value that my titration solution can determine). However, compared to the Matra+, the filter is exhausted after about half the time. I might as well use the Generic filter. It has roughly the same total capacity, but reduces the total hardness less well. If you're not interested in removing residues of medication or PFAS, the quality of which I can't judge, you're better off with the Maxtra Pro Extra limescale protection.

A cartridge can only be operated for a maximum of 2 to 3 weeks, as the filter can only cope with hard water to a limited extent.

I tried this out. I was able to filter about 50 litres of water with this cartridge, then it was through.
What Brita says is definitely a lie. One cartridge should filter 150 litres of water. That's not true. This is fraud and a rip-off by Brita.
