- Vacuums house dust and pet hair very effectively!!! .....super Robi!!!
The first impression of the S12 was quite ok. Unfortunately, a few weaknesses became apparent the next time I used it. Because you have to move all the obstacles out of the way, I let it loose on the individual rooms and not on the whole flat (I have to move the chairs etc. out of the way somewhere).
So I wanted to create a Xiami account so that it might go faster because you can then teach the device the different rooms (I only assumed this because there is no line in the manual describing the app's range of functions). Xiaomi does not accept Mozilla email masks, for whatever reason. However, the account is necessary to programme the S12 via the Xiaomi Home app. There, the spoken language can be switched to German, which sounds better and clearer than English (both are understandable).
In order to map your own home (which I strongly recommend), the surfaces to be cleaned must all be accessible from the charging station. So if you have doorsteps that are not flat, you have to map those rooms individually in your own plans, i.e. place the charging station in the room beforehand and let the S12 map from there - this must of course also be repeated for cleaning. Apparently so that the bot can orientate itself, but in my view unnecessary and tedious. I would prefer to carry it quickly into the room and start it there, but without the charging station this is not possible. You then select the desired room or flat plan in the app and start cleaning. The charging station is compact and doesn't interfere with the furnishings or fits well in a kitchen or other corner.
After mapping, the S12 finds its way much better than if you operate it entirely without the app. It's not really usable without the app, probably because it then assumes it's in the last room it cleaned and takes much longer to do everything.
After a few cleaning runs, you have to clean the S12, i.e. you have to clean the sensors from below with another hoover, plus the rotating brush at the bottom should be freed of hair, etc. Emptying the dust container and refilling the water container (which is in one piece) is no problem. Moist pick-up is more of a facade than actual cleaning. The S12 has absolutely no power to remove grease stains on the kitchen floor (no wonder, it only runs over them with a damp cloth).
It's ok for just under 180 francs. CHF 120 would probably be reasonable for the thing.

Does not cover a 73m2 flat in one go but has to be recharged. Does not reach corners and edges.

Very quick to set up, app very simple and logical, voice of the robot (language selectable) helpful, almost impossible to get it wrong. Mapping is very accurate, as is following the logically calculated route. Option to vacuum only or mop only, or both. Long battery life and water tank sufficient for approx. 80 m2. Exclusion of zones for mop or both, wet pick-up and vacuuming (e.g. high carpets)
