- well suited for protein shakes? - Does it also chop ice? - Cleaning effort? Does it clean itself (water with washing-up liquid and good) or do I have to waste eons of time laboriously removing seals etc. because otherwise everything will go mouldy?

First of all, hello. Perfect for protein. And yes, washing-up liquid and you're done. Or in the dishwasher. No ice, not enough watts.
I would recommend one with 1000 W.
