Am I correctly assuming that device automatically starts when pawer supply is recovered, so user does not need to press ON button (I am going to connect it to smart plug)?

Correct assumption. Just tested it myself. Power on, unplug, plug back in, power stays on. It does take a second or two to turn on after plugging in, but it works.
