I have not tried it, but doubt that this will work.

You can use the blade with ice and I would guess that it would also work with hard coffee beans. However, it will not work smoothly. This Nutribullet blade is designed for liquids. You can make super smoothies. The dry ingredients stick to the edge and you have to remove them by hand several times. When I chop the nuts, I use the other flat blade.
